Anger is energy you created under upsetting conditions and, because you didn't express it, you stuffed it into your body, the organ of memory.

Anger that is "just below the surface" means the mind is pushing anger energy up against your consciousness so you will take it back and purge it out of the mind. The mind does not like emotions...they don't belong there. Thought memories belong there...so do perceptions. Not emotions.
