Yoga breathing initiates two supportive processes that bring emotional relief and healing. The breathing rhythms activate the mind's memory retrieval function to raise suppressed emotions...even from the deep subconscious...up to the level of consciousness to be reclaimed. The breathing simultaneously supports us to lower our mental barriers that keep us from taking back the uncomfortable emotions.
