Yoga Breathing initiates two supportive processes that bring emotional relief and healing. The breathing rhythms activate the mind's memory retrieval function to raise suppressed emotions...even from the deep subconscious...up to the level of consciousness to be reclaimed. The breathing simultaneously lowers our mental barriers that keep us from taking back the uncomfortable emotions...it gets the ego out of the way and opens our hearts. We gain the freedom to reclaim, express and, thereby, purge emotions from the mind. Healing of the mind takes place, not of the psyche which has nothing wrong with it.
