Description Of A Yoga Breathing Session


Expect to be here two hours, possibly two and a half. The first half-hour we will discuss the purpose of your visit and I will instruct you in the four breathing rhythms.

I will inform you that the breathing will activate your mind to bring suppressed memory and emotion up from subconscious storage...stuff from early childhood and even before that.

You will lie down on comfortable mats. With pleasant music playing low in the background, and supported by my coaching, you begin the breathing. You will breathe for about an hour...and because you will lose track of time it will not seem that long.

Since your body is your mind, as your emotions move upward toward your consciousness they will first rise to the surface of your body and provide you with physical sensations telling you they're on the way up to your psyche.

I will coach you to focus on these sensations and breathe at them...so they will rise up to consciousness as emotions rather than physical sensations.

The breathing will make you sufficiently vulnerable to accept the emotions, feel their discomfort and express them, usually as crying, purging them from your body/mind system.

Yes, you can actually breathe away your suppressed emotions, showing that psychiatry's medications are ill advised, as well as their other methods.

Having purged your body/mind of suppressed emotions you will have achieved a deep level of healing...of your body/mind. Of course, your psyche also wins.

When you finish the need to breath...and your body will inform you of it... you will lie there in a blissful state...you will not wish to arise from it...quite unlike the typical visit to a so-called psychotherapist.

When you get up you can expect to be hungry...to have the munchies. I will provide you with some fruit or a glass of juice...and, as you enjoy it, you will share your experience with me. You should expect to spend about fifteen minutes getting grounded from your breathing experience.

This process will be life-enhancing and even life-changing. You will look forward to sharing it with one and all...and to repeating it.
